What are they building in there?

An artistic research project investigating how established, ensemble-specific “group languages” – shared musical and social understandings – shape musicians’ real-time decisions in bandleader-led collaborative improvised music-making. Led by principal investigator Mark Holub, the project brings together two established ensembles, Anthropods and Sloth Racket, for an exchange of newly composed work and a series of performances.

The project is funded by the Austrian Science Fund and hosted at the JAM Music Lab Private University in Vienna, Austria.
